John Mc Sherry is hailed as one of the finest exponents of the art of uilleann piping in the world today – “a true master” – Irish Music Magazine. Born in West Belfast and coming from a family steeped in traditional music, John focused his energies on the pipes from an early age. John began collaborating with fiddle player Sean Smyth, flautist Mike McGoldrick and guitarist Steve Cooney, touring extensively throughout Ireland and England. The seeds for ‘Lunasa’ were being sown.

Pádraig Rynne, regarded as one of the finest concertina players in Irish music today, was born in Co. Clare. He won five All-Ireland titles as well as three Oireachtas titles and began his recording career with the bands Turas and Cían. More recently, Pádraig has worked and recorded with artists of the caliber of Arty McGlynn, Alan Kelly, John McSherry, At First Light, Flook, and Tamalin.
As a former member of Irish music’s super group “Flook” he blends into the mix of another super group Lúnasa

Donogh Hennessy was born in Dublin and is best known as the former guitarist in Lúnasa.
It is through Lúnasa that some of Hennessy’s compositions have become known and they are often played by the younger generation of traditional musicians. He left Lúnasa a few years ago and now mainly works with singers such as Susan McKeown and Pauline Scanlan.

Pauline Scanlon, a very accomplished vocalist and songwriter, galvanized  the Irish music scene with her stunning album, Red Colour Sun recorded with Donogh Hennessy  Deeply immersed in the tradition yet completely aware of the edgier developments in contemporary alternative music, Scanlon is capable of making the oldest ballads sound immediate and fresh while granting newer material a timeless resonance. She was nominated in the best Folk/Trad category in the 2004 Meteor Awards.
