    Hi
I want to learn Irish for work purposes. Unfortunately I did two very basic years of Irish classes about 25 years ago. I’m not sure whether to start at level 1 or to do gcse Irish. I really do not remember much Irish so I would count myself as a beginner. What do you think would be the best to do? And when could I start?
    Thanks
    Fiona

  23. Finbar Keary Says:

Hi my name is Finbar, I am interested in learning Irish and was wondering when beginners classes run. If there were beginners classes available on a Saturday morning that would be ideal for me.

  24. ray Says:

    Cormac , a chara,
Monday nights are for those who have at least completed a 15 week course, Wed are for complete beginners, hope this helps.

  25. deirdre Says:

Hi there, sorry for the mix-up! The GCSE class is on a Monday night which begins on Monday the 19th at 7.00pm, you can pre-register with the Belfast Met, or you can come and register in An Droichead on the night. Unfortunately the conversation class with Jim is at the same time.

However, if you are at a level where you are studying GCSE you may be better suited to the conversation class with Fionntan Mac Coitir which is on a Wednesday night from 7.00pm, that way you could go to conversation class and the GCSE class!!

  26. Cormac Says:

    Hi,
I wanted to enquire as to what you feel the best class for a beginner to attend? Would it be the weds evening class or the monday?
    Many thanks
    Cormac

  27. Charlie Says:

The timetable has GCSE classes on Mondays, 6.30-9.00 but your reply (number 10 above) to Berni suggests it’ll be held on Tuesdays. Have I misread something?
I’d like to enrol on the GCSE class and also do a beginners/intermediate conversation class on another evening, say with Jim McAuley on Mondays. Is that possible?

  28. ray Says:

The Advanced conversation classes will not begin until later on in the year a chara. We will post starting dates on the website as soon as we have them finalised. Sorry about that. We will have intermediate conversation classes on a Wed evening beginning 21st Sept from 7-9.

  29. Barton Says:

    Hiya,

Do the advanced conversation classes start up the 22nd and 25th, or the week before?

    GRMA!
    Barton

  30. ray Says:

    Hi Berni,
GCSE classes are due to begin Tuesday 20th Sept @ 6.30pm. Registration for these classes must be through BMC Belfast Met.

  31. ray Says:

    Hi Eirin,

Level 3 classes will begin on Monday 19th Sept from 6.30pm. You will have to register with BMC for this course.

    Is mise le meas
