An Droichead Membership Scheme.
A chara, this is a fundraising initiative An Droichead’s Committee has developed in order to secure funds to help us further develop our events and services, and to give something back to those people who are generous enough to make a contribution to the progression of our organisation.
We have produced a membership card that will get you special discounts and offers with some of our partners, as well as 20% off the cost of all An Droichead courses, trips and events.
We are asking in return that members committ to a monthly donation, by direct debit, of just £10 per month. Please click here* to download a form, and feel free to call Pól, Jim or Claire for more details.
An Droichead have big plans to expand the Irish language & cultural offering in south and east Belfast – we have been very lucky to have such a large community of loyal users, and our success depends on your continued support.
Bí linn, become a member of An Droichead.
Le meas mór agus buíochas,
Seán Hayes, Cathaoirleach An Droichead Teo.
(*IT’S IMPORTANT THAT YOU SEND THE FORM BACK TO US, OR THAT YOU LET US KNOW YOU HAVE SENT IT TO THE BANK, SO THAT WE CAN SEND YOUR CARD OUT TO YOU)

Belfast’s Irish language Book Shop, An Ceathrú Póilí, was opened in 1983, and after a long time without a proper home, it finally came to be housed within Cultúrlann Mac Adam Ó Fiaich in 1991. The Shop grew alongside Belfast and the North’s Irish speaking community and it is one of the few independent bookshops that have held their own and remained successful during these days of the chain store.
Today, the shop keeps the broadest and most comprehensive range of Irish language books and resources in the North, as well as a selection of English language titles that cover various aspects of life in Ireland.
