Is bunscoil lán-Gaeilge í Scoil an Droichid a dhéanann riar ar dheisceart agus ar oirthear Bhéal Feirste. Is í príomhaidhm na scoile oideachas saibhir iomlán a chur ar fáil do pháistí idir 3 – 11 d’aois trí mheán na Gaeilge. Cothaítear an dlúthnasc atá idir an Naíonra, an Naíscoil agus an Bhunscoil.
Is é an leanbh croí-lár na scoile agus is í an phríomhaidhm atá ag Scoil an Droichid oideachas iomlán sármhaith a thabhairt dár gcuid páistí trí mheán na Gaeilge, i dtimpeallacht shona agus airíoch.
Déantar oideachas leathan agus cothrom a sholáthar do na páistí de réir a riachtanais féin. Spreagtar agus cuidítear leo a gcumas iomlán a fhorbairt – go hoideachasúil, go pearsanta, go sóisialta agus go fisiciúil.
Tá sé mar aidhm ag Scoil an Droichid caoinfhulaingt agus comhthuiscint a chothú. Is rún linn go mbeidh tuiscint ag na páistí ar a dtír féin agus ar an domhan a bhfuil muid beo ann.
Tá tuiscint mhaith ag páistí na scoile ar a gcultúr féin agus cothaítear meas ar chultúir eile. Is mór an bhéim a chuirtear ar an éagsúlacht.

Scoil an Droichid
Scoil an Droichid is an Irish Medium Primary School serving South and East Belfast. We aim to provide an Irish-medium education for children in the age range of 3-11 years through our rich Naíonra, Naíscoil and Primary school provision.
Scoil an Droichid is a child-centred teaching and learning community, committed to promoting inclusion, quality and excellence in Irish Medium Education. The school aims to promote tolerance and mutual understanding. We hope to develop an understanding of the land and of the world in which we live.
We aim to create a safe, happy environment where a spirit of partnership with the whole school community is nurtured. The dignity and full potential of each child is central to our work. A broad and balanced curriculum is provided for each child according to his or her needs. Children are encouraged and assisted to develop their full potential – educationally, personally, socially and physically.
Children from the school have a strong sense of their own cultural identity, and respect for other cultures is promoted throughout our school community.
Scoil an Droichid places a strong emphasis on valuing diversity.
Naíonra an Droichid, Naíscoil an Droichid and Scoil an Droichid are an integral part of the Irish speaking community in Belfast which faithfully passes its heritage on to the next generation. Partnership and Parental involvement is central to our school where community development and life-long learning are celebrated through strong links with An Droichead’s Cultural Centre.
