Agus í dé bhunú Chontae An Chláir ach ag cur fúithi anseo i mBéal Feirste, tá album nuálaíoch curtha le chéile ag Josie, mar atá i Modal Citizen.

Modal Citizen is Josie’s debut solo album from an intimate, inventive, soul-searching fiddle player. This compilation takes the listener on an evocative musical pathway interweaving some of her trad favourites with innovative compositions that connect to her roots, the music of east Clare. Josie’s compositions are created in the old modes of Irish music, hence ‘Modal Citizen’ and she uses various kinds of fiddles including both octave and Stroh violins and the inimitable Rhodes MK1 Stage Piano as tools of self-expression.

Joining Josie in this lunchtime performance will be Brian Stafford (Uilleann Pipes ) and Mary Nugent (Flute) with Sean O’Donnell and Alan Burke (Guitars), Seamus O’Kane (Bodhrán) and Matt Weir (Percussion).

“Simultaneously modern and traditional yet elegant and innovative, Modal Citizen is a huge success.”
– Martin Green, Lau
