An Droichead digiteach | Our day care provision gets a digital boost.

An Droichead used some small capital grants recently to add to the IT equipment available to all of our services, but especially the day care and naíonra services.

In three of our childcare rooms there are now permanently installed Clevertouch 75” interactive screens, as well as two portable screens that can be used for the other rooms.

These interactive screens have proven to be a fantastic resource, having been purchased initially for use at the language classes and our arts provision. They will still be used for the classes as well as large meetings and activities for our youth service. But the day care and naíonra children have fallen in love with the massive new screen for watching their favourite shows, playing games and listening to music.

As well as the screens, each childcare room now has a dedicated ipad or tablet of their own. These can be used for activities as well, however their main purpose is to run the new ‘mynurserypal’ app which is a touch screen nursery system, used for keeping nurseries and parents connected in real time. They also facilitate the smooth running of the nursery, afterschool and daycare services, as manager Tara Gibney explained…
